The Johns Hopkins University Division of Nephrology is seeking a non-faculty physician who will, under the supervision of the Director of the Division of Nephrology, administer medical care to patients in the outpatient, inpatient, and dialysis center settings. This position will devote 100% of its effort to direct clinical care in underserved areas of the Baltimore Metropolitan Region.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
- Administer medical care in the outpatient setting
- Administer medical care in the inpatient setting
- Administer medical care in outpatient dialysis centers
- Performs laboratory tests and other diagnostics
- Performs related work as required
- Acts as a clinical mentor for junior providers within the Division
- Participated in clinical quality and systems improvement projects
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Work requires the analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and date in order to solve problems or design relatively complex systems and programs that cross departmental/division lines
- Work requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
Any Specific Physical Requirements for the Job:
- Lifting and/or carrying objects more than 50 pounds
- Pushing and/or pulling non-motorized equipment weighing over 50 pounds
- Stooping and bending
- Reaching and grasping objects
- Using a keyboard to interact with computer systems
- Proofreading and/or reviewing documents
The expected base pay range for this position is $125,558 - $222,552.
The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Medicine faculty compensation program or pay from participation in Department of Medicine incentive compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.
Minimum Requirements:
- Work requires a doctoral degree in internal or family medicine and a post-doctoral residency training program in Nephrology.
- Work requires board certifications or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Nephrology
- Work requires current, active licensure to practice medicine in all states, districts, and territories where work is to be performed, including but not limited to the State of Maryland, as well as current active licensure to prescribe medication (CDS, DEA) and up-to-date ACLS/BLS certification
