    Job Title: Technical Center Technician

     

    Department: R&D

     

    Reports To: Inside Sales Manager

     

    Exemption Classification: Hourly, non-exempt

     

    Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

     

    Summary: To run equipment trials and evaluate cleanliness results.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM DUTIES

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • General mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently with hand tools is desired.

    • Build and assemble custom fixtures as directed.

    • Modify piping arrangements for tests as directed.

    • Work with Sales Managers and Customers on testing in the lab

    • Keeping the lab clean and free of water on the floor.

    • Prepare lab machines for testing.

    • Charge and neutralize solution in the machines on the shop floor.

    • Perform Millipore cleanliness checks.

    • Perform particulate analysis on Millipore pads.

    • Write up test reports to provide feedback on tests performed.

    • Other duties as assigned by the Proposal and Sales Departments.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities

     

    Qualifications/Skills: Enjoy working in a laboratory environment and be an individual comfortable with using hand tools and laboratory chemicals and machines.

     

    Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree in science, engineering or technology field and/or one-year experience. Must be well organized with knowledge of PC applications (i.e. Microsoft Office, especially Excel), accurate data entry skills and ability to work under pressure.

     

    Language Skills: Communicate verbally and/or in writing with other employees, other departments and supervision as to work in progress, problems and/or completion.

     

    Mathematical Skills: Algebra and basic mathematical calculations.

     

    Reasoning Ability: Must be able to identify work process problems and possible solutions.

     

    Physical Demands: Use hand tools and stand at workstation for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to adjust visual focus. May be required to reach, stoop and/or bend on an as needed basis. Must be able to climb stairs as necessary. Some moderate lifting may be required.

     

    Work Environment: Traditional laboratory and office atmosphere. Temperature standard. Typical noise level for machine operation and office areas.
