    _Join the exciting Hardware Customer Engineering team supporting Snapdragon™ based products for the World’s largest Fabless Semiconductor company. Use your versatile technical and communication skills to enable significant product launches by working closely with customers and internal design teams. Snapdragon™ product support includes developing & delivering world-class documentation, customer training, design reviews & debugging. You will gain exposure to a broad range of state-of-the-art technical and business topics including but not limited to: Product design, System design (Thermal Power, PDN, Signal Integrity, & High Speed SerDes), Embedded Processors (CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, DSPs) Memory & Peripherals (DDR, UFS, USB, PCIe, CSI, DSI, DP, Ethernet, etc.) and related Business topics (marketing support, training & legal topics)._

     

    The automotive hardware applications team provides comprehensive support to all Infotainment and ADAS system-on-chip (SoC) products. This team interfaces with cross-functional internal teams and global applications engineering teams for end-to-end customer support ranging from customer training, development support, commercialization support, to mass production. We are looking for passionate engineers with a complex SoC hardware background and understanding of automotive embedded systems. The Applications team also bridges customer requirements with internal plan of record, identifies gaps in requirements, and proposes solutions to mitigate the gaps.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.

    OR

    Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.

    OR

    PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.

    Additional Job Description

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

    • 6+ years Hardware Design or Hardware Applications experience or related work experience.

     

    Functional safety (ISO26262) experience is a plus

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide hardware design support to customers to enable efficient high quality product launches

    • Research and answer a wide range of in-depth technical questions on Qualcomm SoC and its associated peripherals and IOs (e.g., LP5, UFS, USB, PCIe, CSI, DSI, DP, Ethernet)

    • Resolve technical problems via hands-on trouble shooting.

    • Perform block diagram, schematic, parts placement, and PCB routing reviews on customer platforms, including DDR, Power Delivery Network, and Signal Integrity simulations.

    • Contribute to customer facing reference designs.

    • Create and maintain world-class hardware documentation and design collaterals.

    Skills/experience:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.

    • Experience in the design and production of auto ECUs using highly integrated SoC and power management ICs.

    • Familiarity with complex multi-layered PCB design, schematic, and layout, including power and signal integrity.

    • Self-motivated, independent, and works well with large interdisciplinary hardware teams.

    • Flexible, self-starting and tenacious with initiative to resolve complex customer problems.

    • Experience in integration, debug, and problem reproduction on internal and customer platforms.

    • Experience in Python programming is a plus

    Pay range** **and Other Compensation & Benefits** **:

    $125,600.00 - $188,400.00

     

    The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
