Job Overview:

The Registered Pharmacist is responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical care to all patient age groups including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal patients,

They are responsible for the preparation, dispensing and monitoring of both the prescribing and effectiveness of all medications and IV admixtures,

They exercise considerable independent decision making,

The Pharmacist fulfills these requirements working a 7 night on, 7 night off schedule.

Qualifications:

Required:

+ Graduate of an ACPE- accredited college of Pharmacy, or a foreign equivalent educational degree;

+ BS In Pharmacy or Pharm D required,

+ Current Registration in New Jersey as a Licensed Registered Pharmacist

+ Familiarity with all phases of Hospital Pharmacy,

+ Working knowledge of public health matters,

+ Familiarity with Federal and State laws regulating professional and hospital practice of Pharmacy

+ Understands role of Hospital Pharmacy Department within the Hospital, its interrelationships with other departments and functions

Preferred:

+ Advanced degree preferred,

Essential Functions:

+ The Registered Pharmacist is responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical care to all patient age groups, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal patients

+ The position is responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of both the prescribing and effectiveness of all medications and IV admixtures

+ The registered Pharmacist also provides, when needed, clinical services such as patient counseling, education, consults, and Medication Therapy Management

+ The position is also responsible for identifying and reporting hazardous environments or safety issues and medical errors to appropriate personnel

+ The position is also responsible for any other assigned tasks, as appropriate
