Job Summary

Creates and revisits detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Works independently on components of installation design projects and assists in the coordination and development of complex design documents, ensuring compliance with company standards and client specifications.

Travel is required.

Responsibilities and Duties

Creates accurate and detailed design drawings, plans, and blueprints using CAD software. Collaborates with engineers and architects to understand and interpret design concepts and requirements. Revises and refines designs, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Manages parts of larger projects or takes full responsibility for smaller projects. Provides mentorship and guidance to junior drafters. Ensures document and design quality, accuracy, and compliance with company policies. Participates in project meetings and contributes to design reviews. Assists in the implementation of new CAD software and technologies.

Qualifications and Skills

Required knowledge and years of experience

Must have at least two (2) to four (4) years of experience in CAD drafting. Must have advanced proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks. Must have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology. Must have the ability to work independently on multiple projects with varying complexity. Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities. Must have good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Must have critical Thinking: Ability to see the bigger picture and understand how individual tasks contribute to larger organizational goals. Must have problem-solving skills. Must have the proven ability to identify and manage project design risks and issues, devising effective solutions. Must know about process Improvement. Must have experience analyzing and improving project processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Education Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
