    JOB SUMMARY

    Are you looking for a change of pace from an oversubscribed professional life, but still have enthusiasm for growing a new outpatient clinical Cardiology practice in one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beautiful settings? If so, you may wish to consider this listing.

     

    WhidbeyHealth is a free-standing health care system located on Whidbey Island, about an hour northwest of Seattle, WA, compromised of a critical-access hospital/medical center and a network of outpatient clinics, that serves a population of ~70,000 residents, with ready access to a host of recreational opportunities in the Puget Sound, picturesque San Juan Islands and beyond. We are committed to the creation of an outpatient general cardiology practice and are seeking a non-interventional cardiologist to provide outpatient care, interpret transthoracic echocardiograms, oversee cardiac stress tests, as well as interpret EKGs and ambulatory rhythm monitor studies. Able to perform TEEs would be a plus.

     

    You would join our current diagnostic cardiologist, who oversees our Cardiac Rehabilitation program and who would share in off-hours telephone call as well as participate in clinical care. The medical center offers coronary artery calcium scoring and will soon be offering stress PET imaging studies. There is support available for up to a full-time 40-hour per week commitment, with flexibility in scheduling.

     

    A Non-Interventional Cardiologist specializes in diagnosing and managing heart conditions without using invasive procedures.

    PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS includes the following, other duties may be assigned:

    + Diagnostic Tests: Perform and/or interpret various diagnostic tests, including:

    + Echocardiograms: Use ultrasound to visualize the heart’s structure and function.

    + Stress Tests: Evaluate heart function during physical exertion.

    + Electrocardiograms (EKGs): Record electrical activity of the heart.

    + CAM Patch Tests: interpretation of ambulatory cardiac monitoring devices.

    + Order and utilize advanced imaging such as CT, MRI & Nuclear Medicine/ PET scans to aid in the diagnosis and therapy of cardiovascular disease.

    + Treatment Plans: Develop personalized treatment plans for patients based on test results.

    + Medication Prescriptions: Prescribe medications to manage heart conditions.

    + Lifestyle Recommendations: Advise patients on lifestyle changes to improve heart health.

    + Provide services in an outpatient and inpatient setting as necessary for optimal patient care.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    + Graduate of an accredited medical school; MD or DO.

    + Satisfactory completion of a MD/DO degree (or equivalent) from an accredited medical school.

    + Passage of the United States Medical Licensing Exams (USMLE)

    + Satisfactory completion of an accredited American or Canadian Residency Program in Internal Medicine or General Cardiology.

    + Satisfactory completion of an American or Canadian Fellowship in Cardiology.

     

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

     

    + Current professional licensure in Washington State required by start date.

    + Active unrestricted DEA license required.

    + American or Canadian Board Sub-Specialty Certification In Cardiology

    + Active BLS and ACLS certifications required.

    OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

    + Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and other medical professionals.

    + Motivation to work in a fast-paced environment.

    + Ability to interpret clinical, population and genomic efficacy data.

    Salary Range: $450-$550K Annual Base Salary
