    Description

    Nature of Position:

    This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position will perform a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to support the accounting department, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and compliance with internal policies. Additionally, the individual needs to be organized and have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

    Essential Functions:

    + Maintain a thorough knowledge of the organization and adherers to all organizational standards.

    + Process transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the company’s internal control structure.

    + Understanding of and final responsibility for various electronic invoice import processes.

    + Generate invoices as needed for external semen sales, cull sales, market loads, and other miscellaneous transactions.

    + Utilize financial software and tools to manage accounts effectively.

    + Interact with customers to address inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and maintain positive relationships.

    + Process and record accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely. This could include,

     

    cash receipts for assigned locations as well as ACH and Credit card payments.

     

    + Support month-end and year-end close processes by handling, billing, and reporting tasks in line with established deadlines.

    + Generate invoices on a regular schedule as assigned.

    + Monitor account details for non-payments, delays and address promptly.

    + Perform account analysis to identify and resolve account discrepancies and payment issues.

    + Review and maintain accurate aging reports, ensuring account balances remain current.

    + Collaborate with the accounting team on various projects as needed.

    + Collect and analyze data to prepare requested monthly performance metrics.

    + Maintain all accounts receivable reports, spreadsheets, and accounts receivable files.

    + Maintain a high level of accuracy.

    + Complete tasks within the allotted time frame.

    + Handle additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor to support departmental goals.

    Education/Experience Required:

    + 1+ year of Accounts Receivable experience

    + High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

    Preferred experience:

    + Agribusiness experience a plus

    Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

    + Must display Core Values.

    + Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as well as other Windows based products.

    + Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully.

    + Ability to help lead the company toward more automated processes; Willingness to try new ideas and challenge the status quo.

    + Solid business acumen with a positive, professional attitude, able to build strong relationships and earn the respect of colleagues.

    + Experience with effective communication with the ability to communicate with all levels of management within the organization.

    + Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.

    + Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance.

    + Adapt to change in the work environment, manage competing demands and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events in a positive manner.

    Working Conditions:

    + Most work is done indoors.

    + Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    + Will work somewhat close to other people, such as when sharing office space.

    The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

    **Benefits:** Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment; 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;

    **Paid Time Off:** sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
