UPMC is hiring a Full-Time, CCG Paramedic to support the office in York.
While on shift you may be pulled to other locations to assist with critical care transport needs
Evening, weekend and holiday availability is required to support the hours of operation.

Responsibilities:
+ Ensures crew is logged onto computer duty roster
+ Reports for work well rested, and fit for duty. Adhering to the drug and alcohol policy at all times. including prescription and/or over the counter medicine use.
+ Participates constructively in the peer-review driven quality improvement program.
+ Reflects a positive attitude to the customer in a high stress environment at all times, with a clear understanding of who the customer is.
+ Actively participates in the development and training of new staff.
+ Ensures patient and family confidentiality and dignity at all times.
+ Demonstrates competency related to pharmacological interventions.
+ Performs all assigned duties.
+ Participates in shift report from off going crew.
+ Equipment checks, transport log, medication log.
+ Maintains clean patient environment as well as crew quarters.
+ Responds promptly and efficiently to all requests for service.
+ Ensures the safety of patients and all others.
+ Utilizes appropriate safety channels to report safety concerns and uses tools available to enhance a safe work environment.
+ Demonstrates the ability to establish a rapport with customers; including the ability to create and sustain a positive relationship; regardless of circumstances, environment, or patient presentation.
+ Selects and uses personal protective equipment appropriate to the level of the anticipated hazard.
+ Maintains fitness for duty (if qualified as a flight crew member) by adhering to all employee health requirements, including maximum weight, hearing conservation program, and required medical screenings. Reports injuries and completes the appropriate documentation, no matter how minor, to a supervisor in a timely manner.
+ Adheres to the current uniform policy.
+ Documents appropriate assessment, interventions, and other pertinent patient information in a timely manner.
+ Collects and promptly processes demographic, medical necessity, and other necessary billing information.
+ Adheres to rules for scheduling, including schedule requests, minimum time, and availability.
+ Demonstrates skills, competencies, and judgment necessary to provide patient care in any environment; using educational resources that are required or made available.
+ Provide advanced life support to critically ill or injured patients in adherence with established protocols and standards of care; assessing online medical command or other resources when appropriate.
+ Participates in developing and completing research projects.
+ 3 years clinical experience in critical care and/or emergency department required.
+ Must be eligible to receive medical command authorization by the Medical Director, have reliable transportation, and be willing to travel to any base site as assigned.
+ Must be able to successfully complete the prescribed orientation program, including classroom, clinical rotations, educational competencies, and on the job training.
+ Must work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ Neonatal Resuscitation Program (within 90 days of hire)
+ NIMS 100 (within 90 days of hire)
+ NIMS 200 (within 90 days of hire)
+ NIMS 700 (within 90 days of hire)
+ NIH Stroke Scale Certification (within 90 days of hire)
+ FP-C or CCP-C (within 2 years of hire)
+ Emergency Service Vehicle Operations (within 90 days of hire)
+ Trauma Nursing Core Course OR Intl Trauma Life Support OR Adv Trauma Life Support OR PrehospTrauma Life Supp (one required within 90 days of hire)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
+ Advanced Trauma Life Support OR International Trauma Life Support OR National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification OR Prehospital Trauma Life Support OR Trauma Nursing Core Course
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Certified Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) OR Certified Flight Paramedic
+ Driver's License
+ Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic OR National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (NREMT-P)
+ Emergency Vehicle Operator
