    Department: Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine

    **The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine** at Rush University Medical Center invites applicants for the position of **Clinic Medical Director and Primary Care Physician** to join our faculty at **Rush South Loop** , a multispecialty clinic centrally located in downtown Chicago.

     

    Responsibilities will include direct patient care and involvement with teaching medical students and residents. These positions provide opportunities for career and academic growth and leadership development.     Clinic Medical Directors are leadership positions integral to the department, practice, and the RUSH Medical Group. The role is focused on achieving goals for the practice in the following areas (RUSH Strategic Pillars/Quintuple Aim) via a team-based care approach:

    GIM Practice Medical Directors spend the majority of their time practicing in clinic, engaging in teambuilding and modeling excellent primary care. They are expected to lead by example. Additionally, the practice medical director leads ongoing work to improve practice performance on the organization’s defined metrics. This requires the medical director to be an example of best practice in all of these areas.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities Include:

    + Foster and support the esprit de corps of the practice and the wellness of all clinic team members.

    + Partner with the practice manager to create a high-support, high-standards working environment.

    + Partner with the practice manager to optimize operations (including but not limited to schedule templates, panel size, access, clinic hours, room utilization, message workflows, etc.).

    + Monitor productivity, clinical quality/VBC metric performance, Press Ganey data for the practice and for individual physicians and APPs; coach those who are underperforming and partner with the practice manager for system-based solutions to improve performance.

    + Champion and support the four APP models (PCP, Dyad, inboxologist, Immediate Care)

    + Attend monthly Medical Director meetings organized by the Division Chief

    + Lead monthly practice meetings with the practice staff, faculty, Division Administrator and Division Chief

    + **Approximate time commitment:** 4-5 hours weekly

    Competencies Expected:

    Qualifications

    + 5-10 years’ experience practicing primary care

    + Prior leadership in clinical work, quality improvement, or other domain (education/administration/research)

    + Experience in an academic healthcare setting

    + Medical Degree such as MD or DO (Masters Preferred)

    Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. Additional compensation may include sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

     

    **Pay Range:** $245,000 - $329,000
