    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY

    Payroll Tax Administrator reports directly to Director, Payroll. Works with other Payroll Tax staff, Payroll staff, ADP, employees and other ProMedica departments as needed.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with all tax authorities and keeping current on regulatory tax law changes. Responsible to determine, support and ensure timely disbursement of garnishment/payroll taxes, including federal, state, local (city/school district), FICA, SUI and FUI to ADP; provides back-up in the absence of the Senior Payroll Tax Analyst. Acts as liaison with taxing authorities, including the IRS as required (e.g. researching penalty and interest); coordinates SUTA with unemployment TPA; works collaboratively with Treasury, HR Business Partners, Audit, Fincance, Accounts Payable, HRIS/IT, Compensation Benefits employees and the internal payroll team.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Ensures compliance of pay/taxes; which includes periodic, monthly, quarterly and yearly payments are timely; assists in maintaining payroll tax process manual.

    Audits payments made to taxing authorities, and amounts withheld from employees, and makes adjustments accordingly.

    Liaison for TPA supporting payroll tax; Communicates with regulatory agencies as directed.

    Must be analytical, understand mathematics of journal entries; knowledgeable in payroll tax law and stay abreast of current law changes; shares that knowledge with payroll as needed to process accurately, timely and according to regulation.

    Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of W2’s with TPA.

    Responsible to balance W-2s monthly and quarterly. Responsible to balance W2s on an annual basis and prepare W-2Cs and accounting entries as needed.

    Responsible for the administration of all payroll taxes for all EIN’s.

    Understands allowable resident tax by process level and ensures the accuracy of local taxes before payroll closes.

    Provide customer support to employees with W2’s and taxes with questions and issues and other related items as needed. Actively monitoring and assisting in the payroll tax email box.

    Maintains confidentiality of payroll; Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned/required (may result in overtime); utilizes supplies and equipment without waste; thinks and acts logically without being thrown off stride.

    Assist and actively participate on projects pertaining to payroll tax and with third party vendors as needed.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Associates Degree in business, human resources or related field.

     

    Skills: Multistate tax experience; Multi EIN experience; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other office equipment; Good interpersonal skills and communication; knowledgeable of payroll tax law and wage and hour law.

     

    Years of Experience: 5 to 7 years in multistate payroll tax, experience with PA and OH local taxes required
