    The EEG Technologist is responsible for the following:

    + Procedure Prep: Prepares patients and equipment for procedures.

    + Obtains medical history from patient/families to identify and meet patient-specific needs. (e.g. physical/mental limitations, current physiological status regarding the testing procedure).

    + Reviews procedure request provided by ordering physician, and complies with all standard lab protocols.

    + Documents history in the technologist report.

    + Procedures: Performs procedures according to Laboratory standards and protocols.

    + Implements alternative methods or adjusts recordings to obtain optimal recording of clinical EEG, AEEG data.

    + Prepares and adjusts recording equipment as needed.

    + Safety: Takes appropriate actions during patient emergency situations and ensures patient safety, including electrical equipment safety in the Labs at all times.

    + Administration: Accurately and thoroughly Completes documents, forms, and reports.

    + Supplies and Equipment: Troubleshoots recording equipment and coordinates repairs as needed.

    + Department Operations: Attend technical staff meetings and morning huddles, providing professional input for the development of procedures and protocols.

    + Continuing Education: Participates in conferences and technical meetings on a local, regional, and national basis.

    The EEG Technologist must have the following:

    + 1 year of experience as an EEG Technologist

    + High School diploma or GED
