This internship is for 2nd year MSW students seeking a clinical placement. Students will be working with licensed clinicians at the YAI Center for Specialty Therapy. YAI supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and the clinic provides individual, collateral, and group psychotherapy to clients with I/DD of all ages. Students will learn to conduct individual, collateral, and group psychotherapy to clients, with the support of their supervising licensed clinician. Students will also write progress notes for each session, and treatment plans for each client they are supporting. Students will be expected to attend weekly group supervision on Friday mornings with the entire team, and intern supervision on Friday afternoons with their fellow interns: both of these meetings are virtual and required for interns. Prior clinical experience is not required, but an interest in working with this population is critical. This internship is only available to 2nd year clinical students.

This is an unpaid internship opportunity that is only open to current students. The internship may be able to satisfy course credit if approved by the student's institution of learning.
