SUMMARY

AutoZone is seeking a talented and enthusiastic engineer to join our IT international development team. This role will focus on full stack development initiatives primarily using Java, JavaScript, and Google Cloud technologies. This may also include the use of 3rd party tools and applications, depending on the task. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, happy to collaborate with team members, and contribute to developing innovative solutions that enhance our business operations and drive our customer experience.

Responsibilities

The main day to day tasks will include:

+ Developing, testing, and maintaining web applications using Java and JavaScript frameworks

+ Collaborating with senior developers on full stack development projects

+ Implementing responsive user interface components using React

+ Working with Spring Framework to build robust backend services and APIs

+ Assisting in deploying and maintaining applications on Google Cloud Platform

+ Participating in code reviews and implement feedback from senior team members

+ Debugging and fix software defects across the application stack

+ Contributing to technical documentation for developed features

+ Participating in Agile development processes including daily stand-ups and sprint planning

+ Staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices

+ Leading and mentoring associate engineers on the team

Requirements

Must haves for this role:

+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field

+ 3-5 years of experience in software development

+ Basic knowledge of Java development and object-oriented programming concepts

+ Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

+ Understanding of RESTful API design principles

+ Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL

+ Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

+ Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

+ Experience with being challenged on solutions to problems

+ Willingness to learn new technologies and frameworks

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills Considered as a Plus

Not required, but will heavily aid in the success of the role:

+ Experience with Spring Framework or similar Java frameworks

+ Experience with React.js or similar frontend frameworks

+ Knowledge of C/C++

+ Knowledge of Node.js

+ Knowledge of build tools like Maven or Gradle

+ Familiarity with any Google Cloud Platform services (Cloud Functions, App Engine, Compute Engine, etc...)

+ Experience with version control systems (Git)

+ Understanding of CI/CD pipelines

+ Exposure to containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

+ Contributions to open-source projects

+ Linux experience
