    Military Flight Controls Division

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    With minimum guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks of a complex scope and nature in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, carpentry, painting, air conditioning, equipment, production and N/C machinery.

     

    •​​​​​ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    + Remove, repair or relocate machine parts; install air & water lines; align and adjust machines for production operation.

    + Diagnose defects and perform repair and preventive maintenance to various types of hydraulic equipment, machine tools, building plumbing and related equipment.

    + Construct, install, maintain, repair and overhaul test stands, fixtures and related hydraulic equipment.

    + Setup and operate arc and acetylene welding equipment.

    + Perform high pressure tubing and hose fabrication for hydraulic and pneumatic application and contamination control.

    + Plan, layout and construct additions, partitions, benches, shipping boxes and other carpentry.

    + Assist in planning sequence of operations and methods to be used in overhaul and repair.

    + Check and calibrate new or rebuilt equipment after installation.

    + Identify and repair numerical controlled machine malfunctions.

    + Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, hydraulic and mechanical operations for proper operation.

    + Use precision test equipment.

    + May work with computers and computer software to create and operate programs, reports, and spreadsheets.

    + As a specialized hazardous material technician, may: Coordinate purchase, inventory delivery and pickup of hazardous material and maintain current inventory of on‐ site chemicals.

    + Advise and assist in clean‐up of chemical spills.

    + Coordinate packaging, labeling, storing, and scheduling pickup of hazardous waste for offsite disposal.

    + Maintain accurate records of all hazardous waste shipped offsite.

    + Initiate compliance inspections.

    + Provide technical assistance on hazardous materials compliance and safe practices.

    + Perform other related responsibilities.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    + Five years related maintenance experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.

    + May require proficiency with pump and valve overhaul procedures, especially aerospace associated equipment.

    + Ability to work from blueprints and sketches.

    + Possess required tools. May require ability to setup and operate carpentry, hand and power tools.

    + May require working knowledge of national, state and local electrical codes.

    + May require knowledge of general hydraulics technology, i.e. pumps, cylinders, accumulators, filters, & piping; tube bending, piping fabrication for hydraulic and pneumatic applications.

    + May require knowledge of chemicals and their characteristics.

    + May require working knowledge of computer and computer software to operate programs, create reports, and spreadsheets.

    + May require a Hazardous Material Handling Certificate Required to lift up to 50 pounds.

    + May require forklift operator certification. Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Ability to work with others and be a participative team player.

     

    Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $30.47/hour - $45.81/hour.

     

    This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
