    Functional Summary

    Reporting to the Pipe Foreman, the Pipe Crew Laborer is responsible for the installation of large pipe, culverts, sewers, water services, geotextiles and erosion control devices.

    Key Responsibilities

    The responsibilities of the Pipe Crew Laborer include, but are not limited to:

    Operations

     

    + Ensure all necessary piping equipment is maintained in an operable and condition.

    + Use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels and transit levels to set appropriate grade for pipe installation

    + Place electrical conduits, sleeves, vaults, edge drains, drain beds, and rain infiltrators

    + Place, fuse and connect a variety of sewer and water pipes e.g. PVC, C900 water pipe, and HDPE

    + Install water services, fire lines and hydrants

    + Install geotextile fabric and erosion control devices as directed.

    + Other laboring duties as directed.

     

    Safety, Teamwork & Compliance

     

    + Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety policies and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

    + Attend and participate in safety meetings and inspections.

    + Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.

    + Understand and comply with Company policies and procedures

    + Promote a team approach and maintain an open and respectful approach to communication with all employees.

    + Wear appropriate protective equipment: steel toed boots, hard hats, ear and eye protection

    Requirements/Experience

    + Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites within northwestern and central Montana. Possession of a camper or RV is recommended.

    + High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred

    + Have a current driver’s license

    + Willing to work overtime, as required.

    + Work schedule is weather dependent, so flexibility is required.

    + Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and cold, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

    + Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 75 LBS on a regular basis.

    + Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.

    + Successful applicant will be required to join or be a member of the Laborers Union

     

    Compensation offered with this role will be based on work experience and capability

     

    The successful applicant will be required to join or be a member of the Union of Operating Engineers
