Description
Georgia Military College announces an openeing for a Chef Manager. This position is responsible to assist in the overall supervision and management of food services operations to include catering. Flexible hours will be required to supervise and monitor all shifts of cafeteria operations and catered events as they occur. Major duties include menu planning, ordering, inventory control, sanitation, catering, budgeting, pricing, personnel management, training, and event planning. This position reports to the Director of Food Services, Main Campus, Auxiliary Services.
+ Oversee daily kitchen operations to include food preparation, portion control, quality control, presentation, and cleanliness.
+ Manage Inventory to include ordering supplies and maintain stock.
+ Coordinate catering services and special events ensuring timely delivery and quality presentation.
+ Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
+ Plan and develop creative menus for JC and Prep dining, retail, and catering operations.
+ Screen, interview, hire, train, and supervise staff to uphold GMC standards in quality and team collaboration.
+ Assists the Food Service Director in daily operations as needed.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Associates Degree/2-year certification in Food Service Operations, Business Administration or related specialty.
+ Minimum of 3 years experience in Cafeteria Management/Food Service Management to include customer service, sanitation, food production, and cash accountability. Experience supervising and training others
+ Basic computer skills to include a familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Ability to work with and maintain spreadsheets. Excellent organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 5 – 7 years supervisory experience in Food Service.
+ Experience creating dining and catering menus.
+ Experience providing food service support for large scale events
+ Familiarity with inventory control and database software
