Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team, responsible for overseeing the security software systems that protect the University of Utah’s physical facilities. This role involves managing, supporting, and optimizing security software, as well as assisting with projects to enhance and expand the existing infrastructure. The ideal candidate will work closely with IT, the security systems team, and staff at the University to ensure seamless system integration, address vulnerabilities, and work on security-related projects from planning through implementation.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
+ Administer, configure, and maintain the access control system.
+ Provide technical support, troubleshooting and training for system users and security personnel.
+ Work with vendors and contractors for system maintenance and upgrades.
+ Support security projects, including new installations and expansions.
+ Coordinate with security and IT teams to integrate security software with other enterprise systems.
+ Maintain detailed documentation of security software configurations and procedures. Support security audits, update system records, and assist with compliance reporting.
+ Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in building security systems.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires an associate’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts.

+ An associate’s degree in a related area and/or 2-4 years of experience in the fields security system software, including access control or video surveillance.
+ Experience with C-Cure 9000 or similar access control systems.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle security incidents effectively in a fast-paced environment.
+ Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining security records.
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills
+ Experience in security operations, IT support, or a related field (preferred).
