Robert Half is working with a local company who is looking to bring aboard an experienced Accounting Manager on a permanent basis in Sumner, WA. The individual will take charge of the comprehensive coordination of the accounting and administrative operations, managing a variety of financial tasks within the accounting department. This role necessitates a solid understanding of construction industry practices, union labor regulations, and accounting standards. Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee and manage daily accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and cost accounting across departments.

• Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting and administrative staff, providing mentorship and coaching to foster a high-performing team.

• Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax filings, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with project managers and project executives to provide quarterly work in progress reports and review financial performance of ongoing projects.

• Review weekly payroll processing, union reports, dues, benefits, and deductions. Manage year-end tax filings.

• Compile information for audits and perform account analysis as needed or directed.

• Manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial data, ensuring accurate reporting of consolidated business results.

• Oversee the payment of all accounts, ensuring timely payments for debts, bank loans, and other large financial obligations.

• Develop and implement accounting policies, internal controls, and operating procedures to maintain accurate records and comply with regulations.

• Oversee functions of Human Resources for the office staff and field employees.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $90,000-$115,000 base salary, with opportunity for additional discretionary bonuses. Requirements

• 3+ years of progressive experience, with 2+in management, required. 5-10+ years of experience preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related is preferred. Extensive experience could be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Proficiency in using Viewpoint Spectrum software strongly preferred. Preference will be given to those with Viewpoint Spectrum experience.

• Understanding of Construction Accounting

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions

• Knowledge in Job Costing

• Experience in preparing Union Reports

• Expertise in handling Government Contracts

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Expertise in Auditing procedures

• Capability to handle Billing Functions

• Ability to perform Financial Reporting

• Skill in Account Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Cash Flow Management
