    Description

    We are seeking a skilled Employment Litigation Associate with 10+ years of experience to join our a state-wide firm's thriving labor and employment team. The partner of this practice group is well-known and respected throughout California as a premier L& E litigator!

     

    This role offers significant opportunities to lead and contribute to complex litigation on behalf of private and public employers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Manage employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, from start to finish.

    + Litigate wage and hour disputes, including class and collective actions.

    + Conduct in-depth legal research and draft persuasive legal documents (motions, pleadings, memoranda).

    + Lead deposition activities (taking and defending).

    + Oversee discovery processes.

    + Prepare responses to administrative agencies (EEOC, DFEH).

    + Interview witnesses and prepare them for legal proceedings.

    + Advise employers on compliance with federal and state employment laws, including:

     

    Pay is contingent upon fluency in these areas.

    Requirements

    + Excellent academic background (top 100 law schools preferred)

    + Exceptional analytical, research, and written communication skills.

    + In-depth knowledge of California employment law, ideally from the defense side.

    + Ability to commute to downtown San Diego 3x/week.

     

    Experience in labor relations (negotiations, grievances, arbitrations, public sector labor law) is strongly preferred but not required.
