• Accounting Manager/Supervisor

    Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Controller role with a growing, Reno based homebuilder. The person in this role will report to the Owner and manage a staff of 2 in accounting. Day to day responsibilities will include reviewing Accounts Payable, managing and reviewing loan draw activity, reconciling escrow, general ledger work, financial statement preparation and project cost accounting. The ideal person for the role will have a BS Degree in accounting and at least 7 years of experience, with at least 2 years of project accounting experience. Strong people skills including experience managing a team is required. The Controller will enjoy opportunity for growth, a good team environment, and 100% coverage for medical/dental insurance. This position is in office five days per week in Reno, Nevada! Requirements

     

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of accounting is required

    • Proficiency in executing Month End Close procedures

    • Demonstrated experience in Real Estate Project Accounting

    • Ability to prepare Financial Statements accurately and in a timely manner

    • Excellent computational and analytical skills

    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

    • Effective leadership, management, and supervisory skills

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills

    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

    • Proficiency in using accounting software and other relevant computer applications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required, an advanced degree or detail-oriented certification is preferred.
