Job Summary: To provide operational, programmatic and strategic leadership to the payroll team/function for the CaroMont Health system. Responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of payroll and related accounting processes to ensure that all employees are paid correctly in a timely manner in compliance with applicable employment laws. Specific functions include but are not limited to the collection of timecards, calculating wages, ensuring accurate tax withholdings and deductions, distributing paychecks and maintaining employee records. The Administrator will work closely with CaroMont leaders to develop and communicate all payroll guidelines and processes related to payroll administration and will be responsible for applicable training. This position will be a collaborative partner to Human Resources staff regarding compensation and benefits related issues. The Administrator will provide leadership for the payroll team members and ensure that a high level of customer service is provided to assist CaroMont team members with payroll-related inquiries and to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. The payroll team is responsible for working closely with CaroMont leaders and team members to maintain documentation for pay codes, ensuring that leaders are trained in time entry, performing supplemental pay calculations as needed and managing applicable bonus-related payments. The Administrator makes recommendations to leadership concerning payroll processes and identifies areas of improvement and serves as the subject matter expert and key point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major in business, accounting or finance. Five years of payroll processing including experience in payroll administration or a similar role; healthcare experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax law, employment law, accounting, and benefit procedures is required. Experience with Infor is strongly preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills required. Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and customer service skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software and advanced proficiency in Excel required. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organization skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships across the organization.
