Job Description:
The Field Service Technician will perform electro-mechanical tasks and collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, test, install, and demonstrate customer equipment, as well as train customers on the operation and maintenance of machinery. This role requires teamwork to ensure smooth installation and startup of customer equipment. When not traveling, the technician will work in the shop building custom machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Install, demonstrate, and instruct customers on the operation and maintenance of machinery at customer sites, including troubleshooting and service of equipment in the field.
+ Possess a working knowledge of web handling equipment and tension control systems; calibrate load cells and tune drives as necessary.
+ Utilize assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, machine manuals, and technical specifications to assist with installation, upgrades, and service of machines.
+ Set up and operate machinery to produce customer products and instruct operators on procedures and set-up.
+ Provide technical support to customers by answering questions and solving problems related to machinery operations.
+ Perform routine and emergency breakdown mechanical/electrical service on equipment, diagnosing issues and preparing reports on findings and solutions.
+ Report quality issues and take corrective action to prevent recurrence.
+ Act as a liaison between customers and the company, maintaining positive customer relationships.
+ Submit required reports and ensure timely communication.
+ Mentor and provide leadership to less experienced personnel.
+ Promote a safe working environment, including demonstrating the use of safety equipment and compliance with OSHA guidelines.
+ Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety protocols and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
+ Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time, both by air and car.
+ Strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
+ Ability to read technical drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics, and other job instructions.
+ Experience with setting up and assembling machine modules using hand tools or material handling devices.
+ Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments and their application.
+ Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and geometry.
+ Technical knowledge of machining and manufacturing procedures, with the ability to learn new skills.
+ Team-oriented with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with frequent changes.
+ Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (8-10 hours) and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
+ Physical capability to bend, squat, climb, and move about frequently.

**Pay Details:** $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
