    Job Summary: The Productivity Manager collaborates with departments on performance improvements related to labor management and drives operational efficiency. This role specializes in optimizing labor resources and productivity, analyzing labor data, and recommending process improvements.

     

    Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.

     

    Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.

     

    Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience within healthcare operations. Experience with labor management systems, preferred.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working knowledge of healthcare productivity environment. Superior written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with clinical leaders to drive performance improvement. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines. Advanced analytical skills. Working knowledge of labor management software. Maintains associated infrastructure to ensure that accurate and current data is available in productivity-based tools. Develops, oversees, and improves daily operations, policies, systems, and procedures necessary to support cost reduction and system utilization goals. Directs standardization of operational policies and procedures across the health system as appropriate. Utilizes comparative data to target performance improvement opportunities. Ensures the delivery of consistent and accurate management reporting to accelerate decision making. Serves as resource for productivity standard development and acts as primary contact for facilities on labor related activities. Uses data analytics to drive decisions on productivity improvement, focusing on optimizing labor resources and departmental performance.

     

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Oversees efforts to optimize department performance, identifies inefficiencies, and works with departments to implement strategies for improvement. Streamlines business processes, including labor management, through better tools, technologies, and performance strategies. Provides input on the utilization of web-based applications used to capture and report statistical values used for managing labor costs based on units of service.

     

    Decision Making: Independent judgement in making decisions involving non-routine problems under general supervision.

     

    Working Relationships: Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
