    The Resource Manager plays a critical role at Baystate Health by ensuring that the right resources are available and properly allocated to projects, allowing the organization to function efficiently and meet its goals. In the healthcare environment, where the need for skilled professionals and materials is high, this role is essential to maintaining seamless operations. The Resource Manager acts as a key bridge between IT Managers, project managers and the resource pool, ensuring that projects are adequately staffed with qualified individuals who can meet the specific needs of each project. By forecasting future resource requirements and optimizing utilization, the Resource Manager helps Baystate Health meet its mission to improve the health of people in the community every day, with quality and compassion.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Resource planning and allocation: In collaboration with the IT Manager analyze project requirements, identify necessary resources, and assign employees to projects based on their skills and availability.

     

    Capacity planning: Monitor resource utilization across projects to prevent overallocation and ensure sufficient capacity for upcoming projects.

     

    Skill gap analysis: In collaboration with the IT leadership team identify skill gaps within the workforce and develop training plans to address them.

     

    Project resource forecasting: Predict future resource needs based on project pipeline and business goals.

     

    Collaboration with project managers: Work closely with project managers to understand their resource needs and address any resource-related challenges.

     

    Bench management: Coordinating with the IT Managers assist in managing a pool of available resources (bench) to quickly respond to project demands.

     

    Resource utilization tracking: Monitor resource utilization metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize resource allocation. Monitor utilization and target hours against project plans

     

    Cost management: Contribute to project budgeting by ensuring efficient resource allocation and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

     

    Talent acquisition support: Collaborate with HR to identify and recruit talent with required skills for upcoming projects.

     

    Performance management: Evaluate resource performance and provide feedback to managers, individuals and teams.

    Required Education:

    Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Computer Science or health-related field

    Preferred Education:

    Master's Degree

    Required Expereince:

    5-10 years of Project Management and Resource Management. Comparable HR, Change Management, and Computing experience includes a minimum of four years of progressive information systems management experience.

    Preferred Expereince:

    Experience with IT consulting in healthcare, or with an HIS vendor, is a plus.

     

    Proven experience implementing and optimizing EHR systems, in a healthcare setting.

    Skills/Competencies:

    Strong management and leadership skills

     

    Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently

     

    managing resources in a multi-project environment that is fundamentally complex and challenging due to the shared resource pool, overlapping due dates, and dependencies between projects and tasks.

     

    Superior project management skills

     

    Strong interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills

     

    Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written

     

    Solid Analytical skills to analyze and interpret resource utilization trends

     

    Skilled in analyzing, interpreting and solving complex clinical/business problems

    Able to translate business/clinical workflow problems into practical information system alternatives

    ***15+yrs total IT with minimum of 7+ yrs in management experience w/ Associate Degree accepted in lieu of Bachelors Degree.
