Job Summary:

The Financial Counselor will focus on assisting the Business Office Manager of Patient Financial Services with providing financial assistance to patients, working with patients to insure the hospital receives maximum payment for all services rendered, while assisting the patient with any and all avenues of financial assistance available to them.

Essential Duties include but are not limited to:

+ Verification of eligibility and benefits (VOB) for all patients who are admitted for either inpatient or outpatient services.

+ Provides financial counseling duties to inform patients of their fiscal responsibility. Set up payment plans and/or make recommendations for secondary coverage. Strong communication skills needed. Will be working with insurance companies, multiple departments within WBHH and outside vendors. Previous medical billing/collections experience, insurance knowledge and familiarity of medical terminology required. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment while providing attention to detail required.

Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (WBHH) provides psychiatric stabilization and dual diagnosis treatments for Children, Adolescents and Adult populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Requirements

+ HS Diploma or equivalent required.

+ 1-3 years of previous medical billing/collections experience, insurance knowledge and familiarity of medical terminology required.

+ Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment while providing attention to detail required.
