Description

An Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing and reconciling financial records, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Below is a detailed description of tasks, responsibilities, and required qualifications for this role:

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and Maintain Financial Records

+ Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions accurately and on time.

+ Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.

+ Track, monitor, and report on financial transactions related to expenses, revenue, and other activities

Assist with Month-End and Year-End Closings

+ Support the collection of necessary documentation for financial reporting.

+ Ensure all adjusting journal entries are recorded appropriately.

Ensure Compliance

+ Ensure all financial activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.

+ Assist in audits by providing requested documentation.

Collaborate & Communicate

+ Work closely with other accounting team members, such as Senior Accountants and Financial Analysts, to ensure smooth operations and data accuracy.

+ Communicate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders, including vendors and customers.

Requirements

Accounting Software Proficiency

+ Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and other financial tools

+ Advanced Excel knowledge for creating and managing financial reports

Attention to Detail & Analytical Skills

+ Strong organizational skills with an ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
