    Acts in collaboration with the Union College nurse practitioners and Physician Assistant to provide health services for students. Supervises the Physician Assistant as per NYS codes, rules, and regulations.

    The Physician will visit the clinic once per week, ten weeks per term, for four hours each visit. They will provide phone consultation only from graduation to the end of June and for the month of August.

    Pay Status and Classification: Contracted Position

     

    Schedule: 4 hours/week for each 10 week term (3 terms/year)

     

    Supervisor: Director of Health Services

    Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

    + Health Services: Reviews charts, and consults with health services clinic’s staff about difficult cases.

    + Sees selected patients when on-site.

    + Consults with the staff of the Union College health services clinic during each term via telephone.

    Qualifications:

    + Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school. Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics) preferred.

    + Current and unrestricted medical license to practice in New York.

    + Experience in college health, primary care, or a related field is desirable.

    + Strong clinical skills and the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.

    + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

    + Knowledge of and commitment to best practices in college health, including a comprehensive understanding of issues related to student health and wellness.

    + Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting.

    + Sensitivity to and respect for the unique challenges and concerns of college-aged individuals

    + Adherence to ethical guidelines and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.

    + Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow staff colleagues.

    Compensation:

    The annual salary for this position is $18,360. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
