Job Summary
The **Vice President, Financial Risk Technology,** is a senior leader within the Technology organization responsible for driving the strategy, roadmap , architecture, and delivery of technology solutions that enable the firm’s Financial Risk Management capabilities. This role is central to building scalable, regulatory-compliant, and forward-looking platforms to support core risk domain such as Credit Risk, Treasury Risk and Market Risk across the various segments (Private Client Group and Asset Management, Capital Markets, Bank and International Businesses)
Reporting into Technology, this position serves as a key enabler of the enterprise’s Risk **Stripe model** by delivering purpose-built technology and data infrastructure that supports cross-functional risk teams, including Treasury, Enterprise Risk, and Segment Chief Risk Officers. The role is highly collaborative, interfacing with the firm’s Risk leaders, enterprise data teams and other Raymond James senior management to ensure complete, accurate, and timely risk analytics and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
+ Define and drive the long-term technology strategy and architecture for the firm’s Financial Risk Stripe Functions, including Credit Risk, Treasury Risk (Liquidity, Capital, IRRBB), and Market Risk—ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and enterprise tech vision.
+ Own the risk technology roadmap, identifying and prioritizing strategic initiatives that enhance platform capabilities, modernize legacy systems, and improve risk transparency across the firm.
+ Translate regulatory frameworks and risk methodologies into scalable technical designs, enabling automation of stress testing, liquidity forecasting, capital analytics, and risk limit frameworks.
+ Lead the design and rollout of a firm-wide Risk Data and Analytics platform—establishing foundational data pipelines, common risk data models, and real-time reporting capabilities for second-line risk and finance stakeholders.
+ Shape enterprise-wide initiatives by partnering with Enterprise Architecture and Data teams to deliver compliant risk platforms.
+ Serve as a senior technology advisor to Treasury, Market, and Credit Risk leads—ensuring that platform decisions anticipate future regulatory shifts, macroeconomic changes, and internal control needs.
+ Evaluate and select third-party solutions and vendors that align with the roadmap; lead integration and customization to fit firm-specific architecture and data standards.
+ Drive cross-functional collaboration with segment CRO teams, Enterprise Risk, and Regulatory Reporting to ensure technology delivery meets evolving expectations for auditability, model governance, and transparency.
+ Provide strategic oversight on execution—managing delivery velocity, resource capacity, and milestone accountability across internal and external engineering teams.
+ Deliver executive briefings, dashboards, and strategic planning materials for senior technology and business leaders, shaping investment decisions and enterprise risk posture.
+ Lead transformation initiatives focused on modernization, including cloud migration, risk infrastructure consolidation, and the adoption of real-time, scalable risk computation frameworks.
Education & Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
+ 15+ years of experience in financial services technology, with 10+ years in risk, treasury, or finance-related systems leadership.
+ Strong track record of implementing enterprise-grade technology solutions in support of financial risk management.
+ Technical Expertise
+ Deep knowledge of risk platform design and architecture
+ Experience with data architecture, cloud integration, and building APIs or real-time analytics environments.
+ Leadership & Communication
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence executive-level stakeholders.
+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience delivering updates to senior leadership and regulators.
+ Capable of navigating complex organizational structures and balancing business needs with technology delivery.
