    W K Construction Co., Inc. is a small highway construction contractor. We specialize in Cold in Place Recycling of asphalt pavement, Pulverizing of asphalt pavements, Milling of asphalt and concrete pavements and Stabilizing of soils. We generally perform work in the states of Illinois, Iowa, Michigan (upper peninsula), Minnesota and Wisconsin. The majority of our work force is seasonal, working from May through October. Our highway crews are by and large union members in either the operators or laborers union. Whether they are full time or seasonal employees they have been with our firm for many years and we have a very low turnover with our work force.     Job Description

    W K Construction is accepting applications for equipment operators with skills to work as a field mechanic. This position is a mix of operating machinery and working in the field as a maintenance mechanic. During the Construction Season (May-October) most time will be spent operating an asphalt oil injection/paving machine on our Cold In-Place Recycling Operation.

     

    Secondary responsibilities will be to work as a field repair mechanic on the Cold In-Place Recycling Train. Depending on winter repair work load this position may expand to include employment during the winter months.

    _Job Requirements_** **:

    Minimum 1 Year experience in Highway Construction

     

    CDL Driving License - Required

     

    Any experience in Field Mechanics related to Heavy equipement -Preferred

     

    Cutting and welding skills- Preferred

     

    _Applicants must be willing to travel. W K Construction s typical work area covers Wisconsin, Iowa, and Parts of Minnesota._
