RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for daily operations of the nursing unit, and supervision and support of personnel and patients. Includes administrative duties and may include hands-on clinical duties and responsibilities. Assists in setting the standard of care in the department, consistent with the mission, vision and philosophy of the organization.
• Participates in the administrative and operational management and long-range planning of unit(s) and area(s) assigned as required.
• Serves as the manager in the absence of the department manager.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Standing, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Frequent: static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Occasional: stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of one pound up to five pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Subjected to noise/vibrations from intercoms, telephones and monitors.
• Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases.
• Frequently works on multiple tasks and priorities at one time.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Current Hawaii State license as Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Depending upon area of assignment, specialty certification/training may be required.
• Current BLS certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum three (3) years progressive experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility.
• One (1) year supervisory/leadership experience.
SCOPE OF SERVICE
Cardiac Comprehensive Care Unit (CCCU) is 50 bed unit, which operates on a 24 hour basis. Comprehensive Care is a model of care in which patients remain in the unit whether they require ICU, Telemetry and/or medical surgical care thus significantly decreasing the number of transfers. In addition, it focuses on involving families in the patient’s care. A decentralized unit design provides the necessary equipment and supplies at the bedside for the staff.
CCCU provides care for adolescent patients (only those > 12 years of age AND > 90 pounds) and adults. The most frequent admission/diagnoses include: Acute MI with PTCA, Cardiac Surgery, Congestive Heart Failure, cardiogenic Shock, Cardiac Cath for Ischemic Heart Disease, Circulatory Disorders with Acute MI, Cardiac Arryhythmia and Conduction Disorder.
