    Summary

    The Medical Assistant Float travels to offices throughout the network, as the need arises. The MA Float position requires the ability to adapt and adjust to offices within the Physician Companies, which include Primary Care, and varied specialty practices.

     

    The Medical Assistant is responsible for general clinical and procedural patient care, under supervision of the Practice Manager and/or center Physicians/Providers.

     

    Nature and Scope

     

    Independently performed procedures may include, but is not limited to, rooming patients, venipuncture, administration of injections, collecting vitals, pulmonary function tests, ear irrigations, ultrasound therapy, muscle stimulation, hot/cold packs, EKGs, breathing treatments, lab testing, holtor monitoring, dressing changes, wound cleaning, hearing and vision tests.

    Qualifications

    1. Reliable transportation and theability to effectively manage change will be an essential component in thesuccess of the Medical Assistant Float position.

    2. Qualified applicants must beeither a Certified Medical Assistant, and/or will have graduated from arecognized Medical Assistant program.

    3. Strong patient relations skillsare essential.

    4. Thorough understanding of HIPAAlaw is required and patient confidentiality must be treated with utmostimportance.

    5. Familiarity with the EPICelectronic medical records system is strongly preferred.

    6. CPR certification must becurrent, or obtained within the first 3 months of employment.
