Description:
Summary:
As a Sales Manager, you are responsible for generating group and convention business for the hotel through proactive sales efforts, relationship building, RFP response and strategic account management for groups requiring at least 10 rooms or more with or without meeting space requirements and food & beverage. Additionally, you are responsible for helping assist with the oversight of the sales coordinator and administrative sales team members as needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
+ Identify and pursue prospective group meetings and conference business using competitive set market information and various lead sources, analyzing historical and other statistical group information, participate in conducting account reviews, and preparing customer call & prospecting logs.
+ Solicit group conference/meeting/city-wide business directly and jointly with others through the preparation, execution, and completion of action plans.
+ Maintain, prospect, independently solicit, and book new or reoccurring group business.
+ Develop, create, and maintain customer relationships to achieve optimum revenue.
+ Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the hotel’s Delphi and LMS systems.
+ Manage the hotel’s RFP process/rate negotiations according to rate structure and company guidelines.
+ Maintain product knowledge at all times including all relevant rate structures, hotel product knowledge and promotional offers.
+ Plan, participate and execute sales trips both locally, nationally, and internationally as needed.
+ Within established parameters, quote and negotiate pricing and contract terms with customers by executing contracts for the hotel to confirm future business.
+ Coordinate and follow-up with other hotel departments to ensure delivery of superior guest services upon closing a transaction
+ Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by procedural guidelines.
+ Compile and input market intelligence information into Delphi and utilize prospecting tools accordingly to obtain new business for the hotel.
+ Participate in tradeshows, conventions, and promotional events within the hotel, industry, and customer organizations.
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position.
+ Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards.
+ Respond and answer group inquiries within a 24 hour window.
+ Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals as set by the Director of Hotel Sales.
+ Maintain accurate rcords in the sales CRM system, including all client communications, contracts and pipeline activity.
+ Conduct site inspections, sales presentations, and hotel tours for prospective clients.
+ Collaborate with the operations, catering and convention services teams to ensure flawless execution of group bookings.
+ Prepare and present proposal, negotiate contracts, and close sales contracts in line with hotel policies and profit margins.
+ Manage a portfolio of accounts, maintaining strong relationships with meeting planners, corporate clients, and event organizers.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications
+ Minimum of 3 years of Hotel Sales Manager experience, preferably within the gaming industry.
+ Previous experience using computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Delphi, and LMS preferred.
+ Existing network of corporate, association, or SMERF clients.
+ Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or equivalent designation a plus.
+ Experience providing high level of guest service.
+ At least 21 Years of Age
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent required
+ Bachelor’s Degree preferred
+ Ability to effectively communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal
+ Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
