Position: Administrative Assistant Location: Mountain Manor Baltimore (The Baltimore Academy), Baltimore MD Status: Full Time About Us: The Baltimore Academy has established itself as a premier provider of Full Day Special Education services for students in grades 6 through 12. The 12 month school program serves male and female adolescents ages 12 through 21 who are exhibiting serious emotional and behavior disorders and who are not yet able to function in less restrictive school settings. Summary: The overall responsibility of the Administrative Assistant is to provide direct administrative support to the Director of Education of The Baltimore Academy and to the staff as needed. Responsibilities: * Provides secretarial support such as typing, filing, duplicating and distributing copies * Answers phone calls, schedules meetings. * Provides direct assistance to the Director of Education * Other duties assigned. Requirements: * Skilled with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint, etc...) * Good communication skills and command of the English language * Good writing skills in the areas of mechanics and convention * At least 3 years experience with customer service and interfacing with the public preferred * Knowledge of the school system, nonpublic special education, and the IEP process is a major plus * Good clerical organizational skills, calendar scheduling, and office management skills * Minimum of high school diploma/equivalent * Some college education is preferred
