Under the direction of the Manager, Quality Performance the Quality Specialist is responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting metrics designed to support quality of care. The Quality Specialist collaborates with other Quality Resources staff to design, develop and implement tools for measuring organizational performance in the areas of clinical outcomes, external reporting and compliance with the local, state and federal standards including but not limited to Joint Commission, CMS, MassHealth, etc. The Quality Specialist works closely with the Chief of assigned departments to develop, implement and maintain process improvement standards and goals. Minimum educational requirement: RN with license to practice in MA. Minimum experience: ten years clinical nursing experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting. Previous experience in health care quality preferred. Clinical abstraction experience strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Meditech system preferred. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate organizational and analytical skills. Quality experience or process improvement experience preferred.
