About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented **Battery/Chemical Process Engineer** to support the design and manufacturing of high-performance nickel-cadmium batteries used in aerospace applications. This role bridges lab research, production floor process engineering, and customer interface — ideal for someone who enjoys working across disciplines to drive product and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities
+ Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for battery plates, cells, and complete battery assemblies.
+ Lead or support product development, testing, and qualification for new battery designs.
+ Author and maintain manufacturing specs, process documentation, and qualification test plans.
+ Interface with cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, and testing labs.
+ Perform or support lab testing for process validation and chemical analysis.
+ Ensure compliance with aerospace quality and regulatory standards.
+ Support problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts across battery production.
What You Bring
+ **MS in Chemical Engineering** + 3–5 years of battery or electrochemical process experience _OR_ **BS in Chemical Engineering** + 7+ years of relevant experience
+ Strong knowledge of Nickel-Cadmium or Lithium-Ion battery systems
+ Experience with hands-on process engineering and product qualification
+ Solid analytical skills, including working with scientific equations and data
+ Effective communicator with leadership ability and a collaborative mindset
+ U.S. citizenship or eligible to meet Export Control regulations
Bonus Skills
+ Aerospace, Military, or other high-reliability product experience
+ Familiarity with environmental permitting and industrial wastewater treatment
+ Experience leading process audits and mentoring other engineers
Work Environment & Travel
+ Mix of office, lab, and production floor
+ Occasional exposure to chemicals and industrial environments
+ Some travel to vendors, labs, or customer sites
**Pay Details:** $85,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
