Operations Supervisor - Facilities Management Department

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our Facilities Management team at UPMC Washington. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our hospital's facilities, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities:

+ Supervises direct activities, which includes: Help to oversee the work order system with assigning work orders, creating work orders, managing preventative maintenance work orders, etc.

+ Assist with scheduling employees appropriately; instruct and train personnel in methods and procedures; make hiring recommendations; prepares performance evaluations; makes recommendations regarding unsatisfactory employees; makes promotional recommendations; maintains staff records.

+ Assist Director with completing projects in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining all regulatory requirements and documentation.

+ Inspects, evaluates, and makes recommendations regarding operations of all equipment and properties.

+ Performs preventative maintenance scheduling of hospital equipment and buildings.

+ Ensures that maintenance records are current.

+ Ability to read blueprints, estimate and manage projects, and have experience with Excel spreadsheets.

+ Evaluate and assigns work requisitions.

+ Orders materials as needed; reviews new machinery and/or procurers.

+ Assumes “on-call” duties as determined and scheduled, being responsible for the physical plant.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7AM-3:30PM, but on call for when issues arrive as well.

+ High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

+ Eighteen (18) months to three (3) years of technical training beyond high school preferred.

+ Three (3) to five (5) years recent supervisory experience required.

+ Previous project management experience preferred.

+ Previous Maintenance experience preferred.

+ Knowledge in the daily operations of Facilities Management.

+ Knowledge of Word and Excel preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

+ BLS certification or achievement within thirty (30) days of employment required.

+ Valid driver's license required without any Tier D violations during the most recent time period specified by Washington Health System's automobile insurance carrier.
