The Upward Bound Math-Science (UBMS) program at Binghamton University is one of eight TRIO programs funded by the U.S. Department of Education to strengthen the math and science skills of participating students. The program's goal is to help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science and encourage them to pursue postsecondary degrees in math and science and, ultimately, careers in the math and science profession.
Responsibilities:
Part-time Summer Instructors will teach core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, History, Foreign Language, Composition, and Literature, or an enrichment course such as Music, Art, Photography, Drama, or Technology. The residential Summer Program is from July 7 to August 1. Teachers will instruct daily (Monday to Thursday) for four weeks. Hours will vary based on program needs. This security-sensitive position will require a background check as a pre-employment qualifier.
Applicants should be comfortable teaching on platforms like Google Classroom, Google Meet, and others. Technology assistance will also be provided as needed. Experience teaching virtually is appreciated.

+ Bachelor's degree is required.
+ One or more years of teaching experience or commensurate experience in the field of chosen expertise.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred:
+ Master's degree preferred
+ Teaching Certification is preferred
+ One or more years of experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds
Additional Information:
Salary: $45.00 per hour, five-week position (one-week preparation).
