Electrical Testing Technician I Location: Greenwood Village, CO CLP Engineering (CLPE) is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years' experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers. We're seeking an Electrical Testing Technician to join our Testing Team to perform mid/entry level inspections, testing, and maintaining electrical power equipment. Will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variance of switches both manual and motor operated. Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform mid/entry level testing of High, Medium, and Low voltage electrical power equipment under supervision. * Testing on apparatus includes breakers, transformers, CT's, PT's, cables, and grounding. * Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components in a substation. * Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and Engineering Personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning. * Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed. * Knowledge and understanding of practical application of electrical theory and hazards in order to perform the job requirements successfully and safely. * Other duties as assigned. *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Skills & Qualifications: * Associate or Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or related field, or military experience preferred. * Two to four (2-4) years of relevant industry experience * Experience with the following: * Prescence of Voltage Verification * Contact Resistance * Insulation Resistance * Test Equipment Set Up * One-line Drawings * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Available to work overtime hours and travel to the field for extended time periods. * Able to work well both independently and as a contributing team member. Other Requirements: * You must be a US Citizen. * You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance. * A valid driver's license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy. Travel: * Minimum of 40% travel.
