    Responsibilities:

    As an Insurance Defense Attorney, you’ll manage 10–15 active cases across various areas of insurance defense, including: Auto Accidents (25%) Trucking Damages (25%) – Bonus points for trucking litigation experience! Premises Liability, HOA Matters, Property Disputes, and Medical Malpractice (50%) Some first-party coverage cases may also be included.

    Key tasks include:

    + Handling cases from start to finish and managing day-to-day operations.

    + Drafting, filing, and arguing motions, including ex partes, pleading challenges, discovery motions, meet & confers, and motions to compel (the firm values a balanced approach to motions, preferring efficiency over excessive filings).

    + Conducting and responding to discovery. Taking or defending 1–2 depositions per week (once you’re fully up and running, typically with 4–5+ years of experience).

    + Communicating effectively with insurance carriers and clients.

    + Trial experience is a bonus but not required; most cases do not go to trial for this position.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + Active CA Bar

    + Solid understanding of California civil codes and procedures.

    + Defense-side experience preferred, though plaintiff-side candidates eager to transition to defense work will be considered.

    + Deposition experience.

    + Preferred: 3–15+ years of experience (open to entry level and senior attorneys). Strong familiarity with trucking litigation cases is a bonus!

     

    Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The firm values professionalism and results—get your work done without micromanagement!
