    Field Service Technician

     

    Do you like to travel, where every day is different than the day before? If you answered yes, then this job is for you. We are looking for a Field Service Technician (FST) based in the Gulf Coast Region. The FST performs a variety of repairs, as required, to glass lined steel process equipment at customer locations, with the general purpose of maintaining serviceability of the equipment by performing the following duties.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    + Performs a variety of specific repairs to include:

    + Drive Repairs, accessory replacement, equipment rigging, tantalum repairs of all shapes

     

    and sizes, Teflon repairs, and weld repairs.

     

    + Performs vessel Entry, Inspects equipment and determines repair requirements.

    + Jacket cleaning services including equipment hook-up and chemical analysis of cleaning solution.

    + Maintains a personal inventory, accurately.

    + Completes a variety of paperwork, related to the job, accurately and timely.

    + Handles sensitive customer relationships.

    + Travels extensively by company van or air travel depending on job location.

    + .Performs a variety of diagnostic tests to include:

    + Ultra Sonic, Dye Penetrant, Electric testing, Thickness testing of glass and metal substrates Statiflux testing.

    + All of above done on a daily basis

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - None.

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE –Minimum Associate's degree (A.A.S.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Mechanical repair and welding experience are required. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers and represent the company in a professional manner. This field position requires an individual who is self-directed, can work well both independently and with others, possesses good time management/organizational skills and takes initiative. Must be willing and able to travel by driving a vehicle or by air travel.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS -Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS -Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry for measuring Tantalum repairs.

     

    REASONING & ABILITY -Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
