    Job Summary

    Performs varied support functions, including gathering and contributing information or materials for research projects.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties:

    - Assist with study advertisement

     

    - Assist with participant recruitment

     

    - Assist with verbal consent and study enrollment

     

    - Assist with participant assessments and focus groups

     

    - Data entry

     

    - Translation of study materials

    Minimum Qualifications

    One year research experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated organizational and communication skills; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required. An understanding of research protocols and procedures preferred.

     

    This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

     

    Preferences

     

    The research assistant will assist with an innovative study that aims to develop a harm reduction intervention for Hispanic/Latinos who are not able to quit smoking. The ideal candidate for this position is someone with a passion for public health and with a strong interest in working with the Hispanic/Latino community. The employee must speak Spanish fluently and have good communication skills. Experience with participant recruitment and data collection is preferred but not required. The research assistant will play a crucial role in the study, contributing to the development of new interventions that can make a significant impact on public health.
