The purpose of this job is to ensures the daily, safe, efficient and effective operations of all plant equipment and machinery in accordance with established policies and procedures and assist in construction of production and building facilities.

    Starting pay will be determined based on level of experience, up to $30/hour

    3 weeks PTO, prorated based on hire date

    8 paid holidays, plus 1 paid floating holiday

     

    Medical, dental, vision available on the 1st of the month following hire date

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

    High School Diploma or GED.

    Experience:

    Basic understanding of equipment repairs and troubleshooting techniques.

    Preferred experience:

    -Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing power transfer devices, pumps, valves, and gearboxes on assembly line and/or process equipment.

     

    -Experience with Electrical Assembly and Troubleshooting Techniques.

     

    -Electrical Print Reading.

     

    -Experience with pneumatic system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.

     

    -Experience with Air Handling equipment maintenance.

     

    -Experience with MDARD, SQF, and/or USDA.

    JOB DUTIES:

    + Support continuous improvement in all aspects of production through performing all duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager and Plant Management such as but not limited to:

    + Performing preventative maintenance tasks on all types of production

    + Comply with the company’s safety programs, policy and expectations

    + Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear

    + Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing or repairs

    + Clean, lubricate and adjust parts, equipment and machinery

    + Record repairs and maintenance performed

    + Record parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary

    + Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

    + Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

    + Work safely and communicate safety risks or concerns right away

    + Follow good housekeeping practices for maintenance and production areas such as washing, cleaning and maintaining tools and other equipment.

    + Assist in the maintaining the safe conditions of facility and grounds may include snow and ice removal from entrances, emergency exits and walkways.

    + Operate lifts, industrial trucks and non-motorized pallet jacks as required.

    + Operate torches and welding equipment

    + Comply with the company’s safety programs, policy and expectations

    + Assist in ensuring fundamental food safety and quality practices are maintained to achieve food safety and quality objectives and to support ongoing continuous improvements of food safety programs.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    + Ability to operate industrial equipment such as hand wrenches, welders, power tools, cutting torch, and tape measure.

    + Ability to drive and maintain a valid driver license.

    + Ability to utilize basic math skills, including a variety of calculations.

    + Ability to legibly document data for record keeping purposes.

    + Ability to read and record data from various gauges.

    + Analytical ability related to complex information and problem solving.

    + Ability to understand wire diagrams, construction plans and diagrams.

    + Ability to implement all safety procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures.

    + Ability to understand and communicate technical information through use of written documentation or oral presentation.

    + Knowledge of organizational methods and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

    + Ability to work daily shift, weekends and extended hours as needed.

    + General and specific knowledge and abilities in the following areas:

    + Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical/automation, pneumatic, steam and mechanical systems

    + Equipment knowledge, including bearings, shaft, bolt, nut, wrench and belt sizes.

    + Understanding metal sizes, including I beams, H beams, and angle sizes.

    + Ability to recognize food safety violations or product quality issues and resolve immediately or, if unable to resolve, notify Plant Manager and/or the Quality Control Supervisor.

    + Ability to assist other work-related areas as requested.

    + In the absence of a Maintenance Technician, other Maintenance Technicians or Supervisors will cover the duties of the role.

    BASIC MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    The employee must be able to handle multiple tasks and understand mechanical and electrical equipment operations as required. The employee will need basic calculation skills, good reading, speaking and writing skills, and have an ability to analyze and comprehend complex information. In addition, this employee must be able to work independently, set priorities, determine work assignments and work methods.

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPOSURES:

    Working conditions vary, a portion of the job duties occur in an indoor manufacturing environment. Occasional outside work with varying seasonal temperatures.

     

    The working conditions include many different chemicals used during the production and clean up, high noise levels, moving machinery/equipment, climbing on heights, moving throughout the building to different processing areas and fumes.
