The Department of Visual & Performing Arts (art.sage.edu) at Russell Sage College (sage.edu) invites applications for a part-time (2/2 load) teaching appointment at the rank of Lecturer in a robust Graphic + Media Design BFA program to begin Fall 2025. A teaching commitment of two undergraduate courses in the fall and spring semesters (four total per year) will include classes that support the visual art and design BFA programs and general education students. Ideal candidates will have professional and teaching experience in graphic design, typography, digital imaging, web design, UI/UX, motion graphics, animation, and/or video production/editing. All courses offered by the department are delivered in person.
Accredited since 1978 by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), Russell Sage College offers numerous creative degrees in visual and performing arts including Art + Extended Media (BFA), Interior + Spatial Design (BFA), Graphic + Media Design (BFA), Expressive Arts in Mental Health (BS), Musical Theatre (BS), and Theatre (BA).
The estimated base academic year salary range for this position is $20,800, commensurate with experience.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's or master's degree in graphic design, visual communications, new media, or related field, and demonstrated knowledge of design-related technology is required. College-level teaching experience and a significant record of professional art/design activity are preferred.
