    Description:

    Position Purpose:

    Under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner, performs routine respiratory care procedures. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

    What you will Do:

    Administers aerosolized medication, chest physical therapy, oxygen therapy, and incentive spirometry.

     

    Provides documentation.

     

    Places accumulated charges into computer system.

     

    Passes on information to subsequent care-givers.

     

    Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

    Using his/her knowledge of the principles of growth and development and related needs, communicates and intervenes in a manner appropriate to the age of the patient served which includes:

    Birth-28 days: Neonate

    1-18 Months: Infant

    18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler

     

    3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged

     

    6-12 Yrs: School-Aged

     

    12-18 Yrs: Adolescents

     

    18-65 Yrs: Adults

     

    65+ Yrs: Geriatrics

    Hours/Schedule:

    PRN – must work 12 hours per pay period

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Must have completed first year in accredited respiratory therapy program and currently enrolled in respiratory therapy program.

     

    Intermediate language, intermediate math, intermediate reasoning ability. Personal computer. Ability to work with diverse groups of people; ability to work under pressure and with a large degree of independence
