    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a full-time Mechanical Reliability Engineer for our chemical manufacturing client in Borger, TX. This role involves being part of a technical team responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance and mechanical reliability of the Borger plant, which manufactures thermoplastic for the automotive industry. The engineer will focus on maximizing the reliability of unit operations, executing small capital projects, and leading efforts to improve reliability and support Operational Excellence. Responsibilities include managing the plants Mechanical Integrity Reliability Program, leading problem-solving groups, implementing maintenance standards (such as lubrication, vibration, balancing, alignment, precision maintenance, and bearing handling), optimizing Predictive/Preventive Maintenance, conducting failure and vibration analysis, and handling all necessary reporting. Additionally, the engineer will assist in developing and implementing strategies for equipment reliability improvement in collaboration with Operations and Maintenance teams. Additional Responsibilities are below:

     

    Uses KPI reports and SAP historical logs to identify areas of the process that are not performing satisfactorily and implement Asset Management

     

    Strategies to correct including proactive maintenance strategies, machine modifications, capital investment needs, changing operating procedures, etc.

     

    Evaluates and implements appropriate preventative maintenance schedules and predictive maintenance technologies

     

    Apply Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Failure

    Assist in the development of training for craftsmen, including:

    1. Machinery lubrication best practices

    2. Power transmission alignment and maintenance

    3. Vibration and infrared analysis

    4. Pump and solids handling maintenance

     

    Interface with equipment suppliers to improve overall equipment reliability

     

    Provide Technical Support of projects to ensure optimal life cycle performance

     

    Assist maintenance in the scope of equipment repair and provide troubleshooting assistance/failure identification to Operations

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

     

    Hands-on field machinery expertise and familiarity with chemical process industry equipment (Rotating Equipment: Specifically Pumps/Blowers)

     

    5+ years experience in a chemical/petrochemical manufacturing environment

     

    Small project management skills (typically < $100k)

    Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience SAP PM experience a plus null
