Amazon Fire Tablet is looking for a Sr. Data Scientist to join our Data Foundation & Insights team. In this critical role, you will work from concept to delivery on key data science initiatives that shape our business strategies.
Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Data Scientist at Fire Tablet, you will:
- Build and scale data science products that are the cornerstone of Tablet growth. For example, the long-term customer value model you will create will be what all products and campaigns optimize for across Tablet.
- Leverage your knowledge in statistics, advanced analytics, and machine learning to analyze and translate data into meaningful insights.
- Be closely collaborating with BI Engineers, Data Engineers and Applied Scientists, and providing analytical guidance to Product and Marketing Managers.
- Have end-to-end ownership of the Tablet data science field, including both the operational and technical aspects, and will play an integral role in strategic decision-making
Basic Qualifications
- Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
- 7+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 5+ years being in a data scientist or similar roles involving statistical modeling, and prescriptive and predictive projects/analyses in a high velocity, data-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
