_Clean Harbors, Inc, the nation’s largest provider of environmental services, has an immediate opening for a Massachusetts Licensed Wastewater Operator for groundwater treatment facilities._
_Position Summary: The Wastewater Operator will be responsible for treatment operations and duties will include:_
+ _Working with facility staff to ensure treatment system facility operations_
+ _Site operation includes monitoring gauges, meters and control panels and recording and interpreting readings._
+ _The operator will review and document variations in system operating conditions._
+ _Maintains shift logs and assists in preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports._
+ _Assists in the operations and maintenance of groundwater treatment equipment, including confined space entry and OSHA-Level C activities and system maintenance and repairs._
+ _Perform housekeeping, grounds keeping, minor maintenance and other duties, as necessary._
+ _Collects and process water samples._
_The operator coordinates with the management team regarding the purchase of goods and services._ Executes and ensures the completion of periodic field inspections to monitor and maintain treatment system operations complete, upkeep, repairs, and installations. The operator documents that equipment is kept up to customer and Clean Harbors standards. In addition, the operator ensures quality control and verifies that established protocols are being followed including the use of PPE, proper operating/ sampling procedures, and maintenance procedures.
From time to time the work will involve walking, standing , sitting, lifting, work using ladders or scaffolding and confined space entry .Maintenance work at times may involve assisting with pipe, valve, pump and other mechanical treatment system operation and maintenance or equipment replacement requiring physical activity and the ability to lift to 50 pounds
_The Wastewater Treatment Operator may also be required at times to work weekends on a rotating basis. This is a full-time position._
+ _High School diploma and a demonstrated background in water / wastewater treatment._
+ _OSHA 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Operations certification (HAZWOPER) preferred but will be provided, if necessary,_
+ _Massachusetts Grade Wastewater Operator Certification (Industrial)._
+ _All Grades will be considered but must obtain Massachusetts Grade 5 Status within 2 years._
+ _The candidate must be a self-starter, with a high commitment to Health & Safety._
+ _Must have demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and have excellent reading / writing skills including the ability to_ read, interpret and utilize information contained within blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
+ Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently and with staff Grade 5 operators.
