Job Title: Revit Designer (Structural)

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Design / Layout Coordinator

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB (Summary)

In collaboration with the Engineer of Record, Layout Coordinator, Design Lead and other stakeholders, the Designer develops designs by conceptualizing, creating, revising and finalizing "Best for Project" 3D designs and drawings of complex permanent mine facility infrastructure, temporary sinking gear, material handling, process systems, and above ground facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

HEALTH AND SAFETY

+ Work in compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations for Cementation

+ Be aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report same to Health and Safety Department

+ Ensure all applicable safety codes and regulations are met by appropriate design and use of technology

+ Be a champion for safety, advocating safe behaviour while incorporating safety into the designs produced by the group

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This description lists the core responsibilities and duties of the position. Additional duties deemed to be within the incumbent's capabilities, on an as required basis, might be assigned by management.

+ + Generate 3D designs of permanent and temporary works related to the construction of surface and underground mine facilities and infrastructure

+ Generate preliminary sketches, general arrangement drawings, detailed drawings, material take-offs or other deliverables that effectively and simply illustrate components of the design, while conforming to internal engineering and design standards

+ Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary design, engineering, project management and operations teams to produce "Best for Project" designs that are safe, constructible, operable and maintainable

+ Complete designs within designated schedule and budget as defined within project requirements

+ Check designs and drawings for function, fit-up, and compliance to internal and regulatory standards both on work you perform and work within the office

+ Develop and grow positive relationships with internal, operations and client teams

+ Infrequent travel to project sites, offices, and/or fabrication shops is not anticipated for this position but is possible

+ Additional weekly or daily hours, while infrequent, are anticipated and will be required when needed. Personal schedules will be accommodated to the best of our ability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

+ Proficiency in Autodesk Revit

+ 0-4 years of relevant experience

+ High School Diploma

+ Applicable post-secondary education such as a relevant technician or technology diploma, associates degree, etc. is beneficial.

+ Previous experience in heavy construction, mining, or industrial structures is beneficial

+ Certificate of Completion from an authorized Autodesk Training Center (ATC) accredited program is beneficial

+ Other Autodesk tools, including Advance Steel, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Recap, Inventor, or other 3D design software

+ Bluebeam Revu

+ Python, PyRevit or other programming experience beneficial.
