Description
Amazon is seeking a smart, creative, and driven PR Specialist to join the Amazon Music team. This individual will help lead high visibility public relations initiatives for Amazon Music in the U.S. and around the world.
This role will be responsible for tracking, managing, and organizing workflow across the Amazon Music communications team in the U.S. and worldwide. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated expertise in writing, media relations, project management, influencer relations, and social media. The ideal candidate is able to work autonomously as well as cross-functionally; have experience communicating across multiple teams and/or external agencies; a proven track record identifying efficiencies, reducing silos, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration; is able to identify and track industry trends and building campaigns against them. This individual should be a self-starter, have an eye for details, and enjoy wrangling multiple people and projects.
Key job responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally to plan and execute communications programs geared towards tech, music, and entertainment media
- Regularly interact with internal stakeholders to plan for launches and generate news
- Execute storytelling initiatives across earned and owned channels
- Regularly interact with social and data teams to build upon current and breaking trends in the music landscape
- Write key documents including press releases, briefing documents, executive bios, media lists, and global messaging docs
- Track and maintain our global team calendar
- Manage industry list submissions for executives
- Help drive proactive coverage for Amazon Music initiatives by pitching and securing top media, including print, broadcast and online outlets; build excellent relationships with key media
- Serve as a global liaison for Amazon Music with communications leads in other countries
- Manage external PR agency on monitoring and reporting guidelines, coverage reports, and end-of campaign metrics
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree

- High levels of creativity
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Knowledge of music, technology, and entertainment landscape
- Relationships with consumer/lifestyle media and influencers
- Proven ability to successfully partner with teammates located around the world

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
