Business Analyst

1-Year Contract Opportunity (Potential for Extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a dynamic team focused on implementing innovative solutions in the field of television production technology. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into actionable technical requirements. Key Responsibilities

+ Facilitate meetings with business users to gather requirements and demonstrate system functionalities.

+ Conduct detailed data analysis using SQL databases, multi-dimensional databases, or Excel.

+ Translate business requirements into precise technical specifications.

+ Provide first-line support to resolve user-reported issues effectively.

+ Develop test cases, estimate testing efforts, conduct application testing, and document results.

+ Create training materials and deliver training sessions for end-users.

+ Collaborate closely with developers to understand application functionalities and troubleshoot issues.

+ Identify project risks and issues, and communicate them proactively.

+ Track sprint progress and manage workflows using JIRA.

+ Perform comprehensive testing, including web applications, interfaces, data conversion/reconciliation, and validations using Excel/SQL.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

+ Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing custom software development projects.

+ Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work efficiently with complex datasets.

+ Proficiency in writing test plans and managing user acceptance testing processes.

+ Experience operating in Agile/SCRUM environments.

+ Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across teams.

+ Outstanding documentation skills for deliverables, such as specifications and test plans.

+ Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, vlookups, and formulas.

+ Basic SQL skills for database querying.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience working at major studios or within the television production/distribution industry.

+ Familiarity with financial systems and SAP Financials.

+ Knowledge of Airtable, Snowflake, or Oracle relational databases.

+ Experience using Hyperion Planning tools.

+ Exposure to SOX-compliant applications.

Educational Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
